
The Indian rupee fell by 16 to Rs 45.56 Pais against the U.S. dollar in early trade at the Interbank Stock Exchange today, weighed down by dollar's gains against other major currencies.
Rupee had fallen 46 Pais nearly two weeks of low 45.40/41 against the U.S. dollar in the previous session, with strong demand for U.S. dollars from importers amid a decline in domestic action.
Meanwhile, Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark rose 65.54 points Sensex, or 0.33 percent, to 19,713.31 in opening trade today.
