Clash to Survive in Andhra Pradesh Politics

Releases of Rs.400 crore for Relief  in A.P.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday released Rs.400 crore for the Andhra Pradesh government as advance from the National Calamity Contingency Fund to take up immediate relief and rehabitation.



Former Kadapa MPY. S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched his 48-hour ‘Lakshya Deeksha’, hunger-strike for farmers, on the banks of river Krishna here on Tuesday.

Mr. Jagan also celebrated his 37th birthday . He launched the hunger-strike demanding adequate compensation to farmers who lost their crops in heavy rains early this month in the state.



The condition of fasting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is stable for now but could deteriorate, doctors attending on him said on Tuesday evening.

"His health is stable at the moment but it could deteriorate. His heart pumping is normal and the pulse rate is 84, which is also normal," the team of doctors monitoring Naidu's health said.

The team comprising Dr Srinivasan, Dr Dakshina Murthy and Dr Seshagiri Rao told the newsmen that the blood sugar level of Naidu was 88 mg dl while the electrolytes like sodium, urea and potassium were a bit higher.

He was feeling very weak because of 'protracted starvation'.
